Company Description
SO.PR.E.D. is an agricultural cooperative that has operated in the dehydrated alfalfa and forage sector since 1960.
Today, SO.PR.E.D. is a modern business that supplies both the national and international markets. It dehydrates and packages forages in its two production facilities, exporting this quality Italian product worldwide.
Our products are palatable and highly digestible, they have a high nutrient content and are free of contaminants and impurities.
The quality of our products depends on many different factors, including cutting and harvesting.
Foreign matter (metal, stones, soil, plastic) is removed during the controlled drying process at 100°C; this ensures the forage is completely sanitized.
Ventilated dehydration is a preservation method used to remove the risk of future fermentation and preserve and enhance the superior organoleptic and nutritional properties of the plant.
Dehydrated alfalfa
Pure dehydrated alfalfa compressed into high density bales. The dehydration process with artificial heat preserves the nutrient content of the product–proteins, minerals, beta-carotenes–as well as its colour and aroma. The product contains highly digestible fibre thanks to the cutting at a vegetative stage prior to 30 days.
- Long-fibre dehydrated alfalfa is suitable for the diet of all herbivore animals, in particular those that, during the lactation stage, require fibrous feeds with a higher concentration of protein and nutrients.
- Alfalfa pellets are used primarily in the feed industry, as a protein supplement. However, their ease of use and handling also makes them an excellent feed for all those herbivores that require a high protein and vitamin content.
Dehydrated ryegrass
Ryegrass is a mixture of grasses grown in alfalfa fields during the late winter season, when the alfalfa plant is dormant, or harvested from mixed permanent grassland.
Ryegrass is rich in highly digestible fibre, cellulose and sugar, making it particularly suitable for ruminant animals in the dry stage, or for monogastric animals such as horses.
