Company Description
The Albertella family has specialized in the creation and restoration of artistic stained glass windows for five generations. The company was founded in 1905 in Milan by Mario Albertella, who established the “Casa d’Arte Albertella.”
His son, Raffaele, joined the business until 1948, when, after being awarded the contract for the restoration of the artistic stained glass windows of Genoa Cathedral, he relocated to Genoa and founded the “Studio d’Arte Prof. Raffaele Albertella.”
In 1961, his son Riccardo took over, establishing the “Studio d’Arte Albertella”, leading the company until 1997, when his sons, Dr. Luca and Architect Davide, joined the business, forming the current company, “Studio d’Arte e Architettura Albertella.”
In 2000, the Studio expanded its visibility by opening a showroom at Via Orsini 31r.
In July 2012, the Studio was entered into the “Registro Imprese Storiche” (Historical Companies Register), recognizing its contribution to Italian history.
In December 2023, the firm was awarded the prestigious title ‘Bottega Storica’ (Historical Workshop) and added to the official register.
In January 2025, the Studio participated in and won the competition for the creation of the “Best Cover” award for the Sanremo Festival 2025. On February 14, the award was presented to the winners: Giorgia and Annalisa.
Since 1905, Studio d’Arte e Architettura Albertella has been shaping and molding glass in all its forms, creating unique works such as:

Each painted glass work undergoes meticulous craftsmanship, including:
- Cutting glass tiles with diamond-tipped wheels
- Binding with double-strength drawn wire and soldering
- Techniques such as:
- “Filettatura” (ground earth mixed with fatty essences)
- “Bistratura” (ground earth diluted in water)
- “Inceratura” (virgin beeswax poured on the edges of glass tiles)
- “Patinatura”
- Firing in the “muffola” (ancient kiln)
