Pieffe’s core business is undoubtedly polyurethane, which is a flexible material because:

• It can be shaped, thanks to the many possible chemical formulations. With the correct formulation, polyurethane can replace steel and aluminium, providing cheaper and even lighter solutions;
• It is competitive, for single pieces or in series;
• It is versatile, since it allows freedom of design with different geometries, which makes it the best product for many industrial applications: wheel and roller coatings, bearings, scrapers, bumpers and countless other customised industrial solutions;
• It allows the production of pieces from a few grams in weight to several tons – the latest casting lines installed allow the production of articles weighing over 800 kg in a single casting and in a very fast time;
• It responds to a wide range of applications, for all industries: from the textile sector to the food sector, from pharmaceuticals – healthcare to the steel industry, from automotive to extractive, from offshore to glassware, from packaging to paper making, to wood processing and waste sorting, up to the supply of auxiliary components for the naval and aerospace sectors.

For particularly demanding applications, which require even higher mechanical characteristics, Pieffe offers its customers Adiprene® polyurethane, which benefits from the following advantages:

Pieffe’s production also includes the polyurethane coating of wheels, rollers, cylinders and drums in any hardness and colour, with dimensions up to 1250 mm in diameter and 7000 mm in length. In addition, thanks to an equipped mechanical department, Pieffe offers its customers the supply of the aforementioned items including bearing seats, cores or metal parts, the possibility of employment, the construction of dedicated packaging, and the possible repair of inserts.
Moreover, the Pieffe Mappano plant specialises in the coating of rubber rollers, and supply of rollers complete with metal insert. The compounds used, depending on customer requirements, meet different characteristics:

• anti-abrasion
• anti-wear
• anti-oil
• resistant to chemical agents
• resistant to high temperatures
• for food use
• antistatic

Pieffe deals also with rubber moulding. It has always supported the production of polyurethane articles, that of rubber moulded articles, made with the most varied types of elastomers on the market and through the best available technologies.
Pieffe has adopted the compression moulding system, with which the raw material is inserted at “room temperature”, heated and vulcanized inside the special mould, made ad hoc. This technique makes it possible to obtain extremely precise details in line with the dimensions required in the design phase. In addition, it is also possible to accurately establish the hardness of the rubber, depending on the intended use of the individual element. Pieffe manufactures rubber moulded articles with the most varied types of elastomers on the market.
In recent years, Pieffe has decided to combine the production of cast and printed elastomers with a wide range of custom-made articles in technoplastic and composite materials, thus meeting the increasingly pressing market need to have products with exceptional physical and mechanical characteristics.
